Introduction
OpenMind AI, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates Your Life, the Game™ and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Conversation Content: The reflections, answers, and messages you send during in-app practices (Morning Play, Evening Play, Mind Gym, Gremlin Is Here Now, and similar chat-based exercises), and the AI-generated responses sent back to you
- Progress and Usage Data: How you interact with the app — practices completed, gremlins you have named, XP, levels, curiosity and kindness points, reminder preferences, and similar gameplay state
- Self-Reported Data: Information you voluntarily provide about your experiences, intentions, and progress, including content that may reflect your emotional state, stressors, or mental-health-adjacent topics
- Device and Diagnostic Information: Device type, operating-system version, app version, app build, language, time zone, IP address, crash reports, and basic performance telemetry
- Phone Number (program participants only): If you participate in a program that includes SMS check-ins, the mobile number you provide when you opt in. The free iOS app does not collect a phone number.
- Payment Information (paid plans only): If you purchase a paid plan or subscription, billing details processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. The free iOS app does not collect payment information.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and personalize the in-app coaching experience and Mind Gym progression
- Generate AI responses tailored to your reflections and gameplay state
- Send local reminders, program notifications, and (if you opted in) SMS check-ins
- Process payments and manage paid plans, if you have one
- Send service updates, account-related communications, and support replies
- Diagnose crashes, debug errors, and improve reliability using aggregated, de-identified telemetry
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
AI Processing & Third-Party Subprocessors
Your Life, the Game uses third-party large-language-model ("LLM") providers to generate the responses you receive during chat practices. When you send a message, the relevant portion of the conversation is transmitted to one of our LLM providers (currently OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) so that a response can be generated and returned to you.
We do not allow our LLM providers to use your conversations to train their models. Our access to these providers is configured to opt out of model training and abusive-use retention where the provider supports it. Conversations may be retained by the provider for a short period (typically up to 30 days) for safety review or service-reliability purposes, after which they are deleted by the provider.
We name the AI providers explicitly so you know exactly where your conversational content goes. Other operational vendors are grouped by category and may change over time:
- OpenAI, Inc. — LLM inference for AI chat practices
- Anthropic, PBC — LLM inference for AI chat practices
- Google LLC — LLM inference (Gemini) for AI chat practices
- Cloud infrastructure providers — database, authentication, and application hosting
- Crash reporting and product analytics providers — diagnostics and aggregated usage analytics
- Email lifecycle messaging providers — account and program-related email delivery
We require each provider to handle your information consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable law, and to use it only to perform the service we have contracted them for. We will update this Privacy Policy if we add a new AI provider.
Sensitive Information & Mental-Health-Adjacent Content
Some of the practices in Your Life, the Game invite you to reflect on stress, anxiety, habits, and other topics that may touch on your mental or emotional state. We treat that content with extra care:
- We do not sell it.
- We do not use it to target advertising.
- We do not share it with insurers, employers, or data brokers.
- We do not use it to train any AI model.
- You can delete it at any time using the in-app Delete account flow (see "Your Rights" below).
Your Life, the Game is a self-guided wellness tool. It is not a medical device, not therapy, and not a substitute for professional mental-health care. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services. In the U.S., you can reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Subprocessors: The named third-party service providers listed above, only as necessary to operate the service.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. We use your phone number solely to deliver the SMS messages you have opted into as part of our programs. See our Terms of Service for full details.
